Release of my ATTUID

I was recently let go from a ATT AR for not conforming to their shady practices of getting sales. I was told my ATT UID would never be released to work at another ATT store ever. 

well I was hired at a new authorized retailer and they are saying my ATT UID will not be released so I can’t start my job until it can be. Who do I need to contact to get this figured out?

Wait, you think authorized retailers are more forthright with customers than corporate stores? Spend a little time on this forum and you’ll see that authorized retailers have a terrible reputation with customers. Lying to customers has no consequences because AT&T does not own the stores.   

 This is a community forum which is populated primarily by customers, not a way to get a hold of AT&T

I didn’t mention anything about a corporate store. I don’t live close to one. The authorized retailer told me my ATT UID would not be released for me to work at another authorized retail location.

Regardless, this forum is not HR and not a place to deal with employment issues. I’ve never heard of an ATT UID needing to be released. Why can’t the new store just get you a new one?

ATT only gives employees one UID and if for some reason they choose not to release it then you can never work for ATT

I don’t believe that’s true and I’m an ex employee but I can’t say for sure. If that is true, then that UID is specific to you and can only be used by you, so why would it need to be released? That makes no sense to me. Regardless, this isn’t the place to deal with that. Unfortunately, I have no idea who you should contact other than HR. You may need legal assistance.

It sounds like maybe they told AT&T you were not eligible for rehire. But like was said earlier, if you don't like shady sales tactics, cell phone authorized retailers are probably not the place for you. Good for you for having the nerve to quit the first time; don't put yourself in the position again.

I actually found the email to ATT hr here and sent them a email. I’m just waiting to hear back.
