Employment question
I was texted by the HR manager of the DirecTV company initially before given an email with instructions on what to do for the next step. He then held an interview with me on app.wire.com. He reached out to me this morning letting me know the director of operations was going to call me about the status of my interview. Apparently I got the job, as a video editor, but I felt it was obtained too easily. I have no experience in what they hired me for and it seemed effortless. When he called me, we had a bad phone connection, and he ended up telling me through text that I got the job. The HR manager then gave me the team leader contact on app.wire.com, and she ended up telling me I had to buy a separate iPhone and iPad for the job, but they sent me a reimbursement form to fill out so they can get things up and running. The team leader told me I had to get back to her ASAP with my bank info, some forms to fill out, and my ID. They said I have pre-training tomorrow...
So, my questions here are:
1) Is this job legitimate?
2) If two different people of a company only talk through app.wire.com, and have typos in almost all of their messages back and forth, is this considered a real job?
3) Is it normal for a job to text you, then email you, then only contact you through messaging instead of phone calls?
4) Should I continue even though it doesn't feel completely right?

Can you share a status update? I’m going through the same process and have the same questions-it’s how I discovered your post.

AT&T has spun off AT&T TV / DIRECTV to a separate DIRECTV company. Please see their forums here:
