Land line not working
When a number is dialed get a busy signal. When I try to call my number
it says voicemail not set up

Could be you used to dial seven & now you need ten digits.
Does yor phone dial pulse or tone? U-verse only supports tone.
Dial *98 & follow directions to set up your voicemail.
