Backup Battery
I know this has been asked before but I'm wondering if anyone knows the official verdict on the Uverse voice backup battery.
I switched over from a landline to Uverse voice today and even mentioned to the tech how I didn't like the fact that I would lose phone service in a power outage. He said "yeah, that is a problem". I didn't get a battery backup and I'm wondering if they even supply these any longer.

He should have provided you with a backup battery as part of installation if you have U-verse Voice. The first on on AT&T. When it wears out in a couple of years, I believe you're responsible for replacing it.
I'd suggest that you click this
U-verse Customer Service link to send a Private Message (PM) to the AT&T customer service team to help you obtain the battery you should have gotten. You can expect a reply via return PM (the blue envelope
in the upper right hand corner of this site, next to your name and avatar) in a business day or three.
This is a group of U-verse service specialists who are knowledgeable about U-verse and will stay with your problem until the end (instead of forgetting about it when the phone hits the cradle). Speed things up by including your Billing Account Number, and the best time and way to reach you.

Thanks, I just sent a message off to them. It's a 3801HGV so it would be an external battery pack.
Now I'll have to work on the problem of not being able to enable any features like call blocking, etc. because online I just get the message "This user does not have access to voice services".
