Adding 3rd digital line, what to expect at installation

Already have 2 digital lines connected to the single jack marked Phone on the ATT modem.   I am having a third line switched over from analog to digital this week.  The modem only has the single jack for line 1 and 2.  How does the third line get installed,, a different modem with 2 phone jacks?????

Should be a CIM installer, core tech installing an IAD… a separate box that plugs into one of the Ethernet ports. The box supplies up to 3 (?} additional VOIP lines. This is used for business accounts that need more than 2 voip lines.

some info…

AT&T Collaborate quick reference EdgeMarc 250 Integrated Access Device

The EdgeMarc 250® integrated access device converts multiple types of input signals (analog phone, digital phone, and fax) into a common communications format.

The EdgeMarc 250 provides Voice over IP (VoIP) and fax over IP for use with the AT&T CollaborateSM service.

Collaborate is a VoIP system that transports calls over the AT&T IP network rather than over the traditional public switched telephone network.

Features

Use the EdgeMarc 250 to connect analog devices. The EdgeMarc 250 comes with 4 analog foreign exchange subscriber (FXS) ports that support voice, fax, and other data devices such as alarm systems and point of sale ((Edited per community guidelines)) terminals. This device has a local area network (LAN) switch (non-power over ethernet) that you can use to connect up to 7 IP phones. Use one LAN port to connect the EdgeMarc 250 to your LAN.

Well, they have to have an ATA from something whether it be another modem or using an Ethernet port. Please let us know as you're the first person I've heard of adding a third line.

Thank you @my thoughts I knew they had the boxes for businesses didn't know they would use them for residential. I've seen those the cable companies use, but never with Telco. Question isn't Collaborate service strictly business?

Thank you for the responses.

Let me clarify the installation.....it is for a small 2 person office.   Therefore it is a business account.

There is link to a business forum here.....so this question was posted to using the link to Home Phone.   My apologies if this causes an issue.

The current modem being used is the Arris BGW210 connected to fiber.    A setup being used in residential installations.

Install is today, will post results.

No, issues, it's nice to know. The cable companies around here had 6 port fxs station ports. If yours is a business account and after all is said and done if you need to post in the business forum here's the link. I'm assuming this meant there is no link to the business forum. Either way you have a link now.

Thanks to all that responded.

Install went as @my thoughts said it would.   Tech was great, called 60 min ahead of time with ETA, was on time and knew his stuff.

He added an IAD device to port 1 for the additional digital line.

Both fax and cc terminal connected to the device are working fine.

Seamless conversion.  How about that!

Device is ATT IADv2, which looks like the Edgemark 250 mentioned.   Does run hot, so did not stack on top of the modem.

Tech did mention that he has only installed this on the business side @spoom2 and thank you for the business forum link.
