7 days to repair broken land line

Why is it that it takes seven days to come out to repair a broken land line? I am paying for a service that I am not receiving. The phone box  been previously changed out and now no service. Not acceptable. What’s even worst is trying to report it through the (Edited per community guidelines) app.

Thank you for posting your experience on our forums, @Iofbholder.

We understand how frustrating it is to not be able to use the service you're paying for, and we try to make every effort we can to quickly resolve any interruptions that you may experience. There may be times where a larger issue is causing an increased workload for our technicians in your area, and this can lead to dispatch delays.

With that being said, are you still experiencing problems with your landline service?

Also, what trouble are you having with the app?

Let us know, so we know how to proceed.

Hello,

My landline service was due to be activated on June 11, but it was not. I have a confirmation number and received a welcome packet with account information in the mail. My elderly father recently moved in to my house and he needs this phone working for his safety.

I called AT&T (800-288-2020) on Monday, June 15 to inquire about the status of my service. After speaking to 7 different operators, I was connected with Leah in the San Diego office. Leah assured me that she was having her "back office" reach out to "dispatch" to correct my issue. She told me that responses typically take 24 - 48 hours and I should hear back by Friday, June 19. She instructed me to wait for a phone call back from AT&T and NOT to call back because "too many cooks spoil the broth". It is now Thursday, June 25 and I have not heard back.

My phone is still not activated. Please HELP!

Thank you,

Teresa

Hello,

I'm having the same sort of issue with AT&T. Its been over a week and still no one has come out to service a line that has been down for almost two weeks at this point. What is going on over there ? Why are you treating your loyal customer for over 14 years this way ? I am now ready to switch my service to Verizon in hopes of better service.

OK this has nothing to do with traditional landline phone.  I'm assuming this is a wireless home phone.  Is that correct?  You bought a new box so has it been activated or did you use the card out of the old one? What did the instructions that came with it tell you to do?  You stated how do you get the service started "again".  Does that mean you canceled service and are now trying to reactivate the old or is this totally new service?  Too many questions to give you a good answer.

I am going on one month without land line service.  Glass fire damage to underground cable.  I know this is a challenge, but the infrastructure pole work has been done for a re route of the line.  Please do the work.  The report should be under the following  707 942 1373  Peter McGee

If they're working on it not sure what more they can do.  Might want to remove your phone number, this is a public forum, unless you like spam calls.

I have a land line down and it's going to take more than seven days until I get service. I could not get a person on the phone. I am wondering if I need it restored at all. That's outrageous for the price of the line.

I need to report my landline outage!! This web site is a nightmare. I found where to submit a ticket After all the crap of filling out the form It stated someone would contact me. I DO NOT HAVE SERVICE, thus submitting a ticket...duh...We do not have cell service in my area so I am here without a way to contact emergency services. Hope I do not have to call 911 lol what a joke! If ATT was not the only game in town I would be gone in a heartbeat...I HATE ATT!!!

This is a user forum, not AT&T support.  Any information on your outage has to go through AT&T.
