unavailable calls

At the hospital all day with my husband. Got home a had lot of unavailable calls , Until 4 00 in the afternoon. Deleted all of them. I have a landline not a Smart Phone. I will be at the hospital again in the morning checking on my husband and when I get home I will see how many spam calls I got. Thank you for any and all the help you have given me.

Hey @Edwina Adkison. We know how annoying it can be to receive these calls, and would be happy to help you block the unavailable calls you keep receiving.

We'd recommend checking out our information on anonymous call rejection. This will stop calls from people that use a blocking feature to keep their name or number from being displayed.

You will just need to pick up your phone and press *77 to turn on anonymous call rejection. Then you can press *87 if you ever want to turn off anonymous call rejection.

Let us know if this helps.

This was answered in your other topic found here. What @ATTHelp posted is for private calls which are legitimate calls that the caller chooses to block their outgoing caller ID, it doesn't apply to calls identified as unavailable.

one cell phone call came in this morning. I answered it and no one was there. I I guess it was one that I had blocked by star77 then the number and a pound.

@Edwina Adkison The best way to avoid spam calls is to not answer calls that don't have a caller id you recognize. If they don't get a live body they will slow down a lot. This is if you don't want to get a system with smart call blocker.

I don't know if you are a senior and on Medicare but IT IS open enrollment (thru 12/7).

The calls are never ending and they all show "Unavailable".

I agree with @spoom2   DO NOT ANSWER THOSE CALLS.  I have digital phone service (VOIP) and I can't tell you how many times I've used *61 (call blocker).

I don't have a phone with smart call blocker, but I don't get that many spam calls. I have a Verizon wireless home phone and Verizon cellular does a decent job of blocking spam calls. Having said that if I were having problems with spam calls, I'd get a phone with a good smart call blocker, you can stop nearly 100% of spam calls. The one thing I'd recommend is to pull up the manual for the one you're thinking of getting and read what the smart call blocker does to make sure it will do what you want it to.
