U verse home phone pricing

I'm paying approx $35 a month for UVerse home phone. Verzion says they have a rate of $19 a month, no set up fees & free equipment. Will ATT match their price to keep me?

No, they won't, but why not switch to Basic Talk for $9.99/mo?  I pay $12.37 w/fees+taxes/mo.

Beats both by a mile.

I agree with you. AT&T's home phone service is not comeptitive at all considering it is VoIP. Heck, we had AT&T's CallVantage VoIP which was $19.95/month (since we were also wireless customers) before they discontinued it and rolled it up under U-verse. We were then forced to go with another VoIP provider; even though the monthly base fee was more the total cost was less because of the taxes and other fees that AT&T adds to their costs. The only reason I added phone service when switching to U-verse was to extend my discounts on TV and Internet to 24 months.

I'll stick with my U Verse home phone. Looks like I'd give up features if I switch.
