Simultaneous ring

Does ATT basic home phone service offer simultaneous ring (incoming calls can be set to ring on two different phone numbers, e.g., home landline and cell phone)? This eliminates the need for cumbersome call forwarding. Spectrum offers this feature and, I believe that ATT business phone service offers it.

We're happy to see that you're interested in AT&T home phone, Plboland.

As our Ace stated, the feature you're inquiring about is called Locate Me. Keep in mind that this is available on Digital Home Phone, not basic Landline. Once your service is set up, just follow the steps in the link that was provided, and you're good to go.

If you have any other questions about AT&T home phone service, we'll be happy to answer them!

The service name for Digital Phone is called "AT&T Phone."  It is a VOIP solution where the "analog phone jack" is on the back of your AT&T Internet Gateway.  99% of normal analog phones can be used with it.

Not that I'm aware of. That would be an advanced call forwarding feature and I don't even think AT&T's digital service has that.

Thanks for the response. I don't believe it would be that hard to implement it if Spectrum already has that feature. The way ATT works with call forwarding (using codes every time you want to implement call forwarding or cancel it) is archaic. I'll stick with Spectrum phone service for now. This is a showstopper for me.

Thanks for your response. How is the digital service different than the basic landline and can I use my existing phones?

You're welcome, Plboland!

Digital Home Phone runs on your Internet service. Landline or Traditional Home Phone runs on outside telephone lines and the wires are run underground.

You can use any corded or cordless phone with both Landline and Digital Home Phone.

Let us know if you need more information!

I'd be just like your Spectrum service where your phone plugs into your AT&T modem. You'd want to confirm AT&T could offer whatever other services you currently have.

Thanks for all the responses. I’ll have to contact ATT again to discuss this.

Thanks for all the responses. I finally got around to talking to ATT about switching my landline service. They were able to do everything but one deal killer - they are not able to port my current phone number to ATT. Unfortunately, I'll have to stay with Spectrum since changing my phone number would be too complicated for all the people I communicate with.
