delete system messages on voicemail

i have been on the phone with ATT Tech for over an hour.  I have 223 "system" messages.  I cannot "see" them on Att.com.  Att.com shows 223 system messages and 0 voicemails.  I went on to my digital phone and have to start at the oldest message to delete them.  I attempted this, but the 223 stayed after I deleted about 20 by pressing 7.   I cannot hear my REAL voice mails on my phone, nor do the REAL voicemails show up on ATT.com (I do get emails about an hour after the voicemail is received...)

I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH TECH SERVICE FOR OVER AN HOUR!!  THEY NOW WHAT TO TAKE MY PHONE OUT OF SERVICE FOR UP TO TWO DAYS!! (unfortunately I am expecting an important call this week ....I must have a working phone)

And the link to "help" on the ATT website does not work (page not found).....

what can I do to delete these system messages?
