Can't turn off Outgoing Caller ID Blocking

On my phone features the outgoing caller id block is turned on. This means that all my outgoing calls show up as private. Many of my friends and family won't answer private calls. I have no idea how this got turned on. The real problem I have is when I try to turn it off it says I don't have permission, contact primary user. I logged in with the primary user account and still same problem. 2 calls to ATT and 4 hours of wasted time and still can't turn it off. Any ideas?

 Hi@DJL_Toys!

Thank you for contacting us here at Community Forums.  In this day and age, Caller ID is a very important feature to be able to manage.  I would be happy to look further into this feature with you.

There are two reasons your Caller ID is coming through as private.  The first thing to check would be if this setting has been changed on the device itself.  You can access our Device Support Tool to learn how to turn this feature off.  Select the make and model of your device and then select tutorials.  There is a list of topics available for you to choose from.

Another reason this could be happening is your primary user information on your account may have been changed to Private.  To get this corrected, you will need to contact us over the phone or by live chat and have the user information updated.

Thank you and have a great week!

The device is my local home uverse digital telephone. No other devices such as wireless devices involved. I was told twice by Att technicians that it would be turned off in 24 hours. It's been over a week. Will get rid of home phone soon.

For U-verse it's controlled through the online portal. There's a link on the right side of the page that give the features and how to use them.

When I access phone features the outgoing caller Id block it won't let me
turn it off. I get the message "You do not have permission to change this
setting. Contact the Primary Member listed on this account for access
rights". I am logged in with the account that we given me that has correct
permissions. I have called in to AT&T 4 times to get this issue resolved. I
was told to wait and they would turn it off for me. Has been over a month
and still turned on. Makes all my outgoing calls show up as private on
caller id screen and my calls won't get answered. I am getting ready to
cancel my home phone it this doesn't get fixed soon. This is my home
landline phone so no other device is involved.

f you dial *82 it works for one call. I would need to dial *82 for every call we make. If *82 is not used call shows up as private. Still have this problem.

So can you access the phone features and can you control other features from your account.  How many times in the last year and a half have you called tech support to try to get this resolved?  If you can't access or use your phone features due to a technical issue you need to be persistent with tech support.
