cannot delete a voicemail from AT&T

Cannot delete a voicemail from AT&T.  Normal procedure is to press 7, this just restarts the voicemail message, which is (supposedly) from AT&T.  I am on VOIP.

I couldn't find "Check Voicemail" on MyATT account page.  I had to click on "Digital Phone" (plus sign) to open options and there I found a box with "My Voicemail and phone features" and a link to "Check or manage voicemail & features".  There I found a list of my voicemails and an option to delete them one by one.  It worked and allowed me to delete the annoying "Administrative voicemail" about Voicemail Viewer app.  It shouldn't have been this difficult, but I am grateful for learning about this way to manage my landline features on the web.

Thank you!

Hey @Bronze2015,

You should be able to delete your voice mail by logging into your AT&T account.  When you have successfully signed in, select Check Voicemail > under More Actions select Delete.

Thank you for partaking in the Community Forums, and have a stupendous week.

Thank you for letting us know this worked.  I'm sure you've helped others with your response also, I do agree it shouldn't be so difficult.

I signed into my att acount. It says, "Welcome [my name]". I've been wandering around this site for a LONG time - to NO avail! I don't see "Check voicemail" and I don't see "Digital Phone" (plus sign), although I do see "My digital home phone" - which does NOT have any useful info or options to do ANYTHING.

This is unbelievable! Robocalls from att now???

This is obviously a massive att marketing failure. It has p*ssed a LOT of people off.

ATT doesn't take a hint and STOP this.

We shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops to clear our account that att screwed up!

After painstakingly finding this - which is not as described above, we have to install Quicktime - which is a very big no-no, esp. for Windows users. Even the federal gov't is telling everyone to NOT use it. The layout is extremely convoluted.

I just got ANOTHER one of these 'administrative broadcasts' AGAIN today! This is outfrigginrageous! This is also in direct violation of those on the National Do Not Call Registry - which I am on.

This is going to backfire on att big time!!!!!!

Did you try the other solution?  There were two links posted in this topic I guided you to.

I agree that this is a *** on the part of AT&T.  You want to sell me something?  Send me an email.  Don't make my friggin' phone flash for days with a voicemail I can't delete from the prompts.   This also happened a couple of weeks prior and if I recall correctly I had another voicemail come in.  Once I got that deleted, it let me delete the spam.  Good to know about being able to delete stuff from the website.

This piece of sh*t is NOT even on the website! But it IS on my phone.

I recorded this and it is captioned on my phone. I wrote the FTC about this. I would like to see others do this also.

This is utterly ridiculous my TV, internet, and home phone provider, AT&T, would send me an administrative voicemail message I can't delete using my home phone! And as if it wasn't bad enough they sent me the message on downloading the voicemail app yesterday they also sent another message today! And it ties up my voicemail with our digital phones blinking on a new message when I already read it!

AT&T is supposed to be protecting us from being bombarded with spam when now they are doing this themselves! And seems like they've learned the 'spoofing' tricks in using my area code with a similar looking number and I even received the same call/message from Canada today.

Caller ID, dates  and times I received this same message from AT&T Adm:

"Unavailable",  August 28, 2018,   4:00pm EDT

"Ontario Canada", August 29, 2018,   3:37pm EDT

I'll be filing a complaint with the FTC and my state's "Attorney General's Consumer Affairs Office" if I receive anymore of these same type messages from AT&T.

PS. thanks maxixe in post #3 and I was finally about to figure out how to go into my online account to remove these unwanted messages.
