AT&T VOICE
Hello
My question is with my U-Verse "Voice" Acct. I never use my Landline phone, if I do It would only be on the times my cell phone is being charged,or if an issue with my cell is at hand. The most I use my landline approx. 5-6 calls a year. I use my cell phone for all business/personal calls. And it is connected to my fax which I only use now and then. I do not have a business and no other family members live with me. Therefore I do not understand why my U-Verse voice goes up in price each month. For the month of Sept 2014 it shows charges of $44!! If I remember correctly all my U-Verse Voice charges were in the $20-$30 range .Which I consider quite high being as I never use my Landline. And my statements show "No Calls Long Distance or Local". At the time I fail to question it however this charge of $44 for a month is unacceptable. and I have to bring it to ATT attention. If I do not use my landline (Voice) is it necessary to have it? Can I have it shut off.? Why am I paying for something that does not benefit me.. Please Explain? Thank You

There are 3 options with U-verse Voice:
Voice 200 - $25 mnth. Limited to 200 mins. Billed 7 cents a min. after that.
Voice Unlimited - $35 mnth Unlimited use.
Voice International - $40 mnth Unlimited nationwide use and discounted for certain countries.
Compare plans here
Of course, there will will be 'below the line' charges such as fees and taxes added on.
The only concern would be if you are getting a bundle discount and would changing affect those discounts. Call the CS number and ask.

Buongiorno signora italiana, piacere di conoscerti.
Yes you can drop the Voice portion of your service, but as Skeeterintexas mentioned, if you are getting a "bundle" price for your service, your bill will be reduced due to the removal of the Voice service, but the price for your remaining services will go up some.
There are other alternatives to the Uverse Voice service (like Skype, Vonage, Magic Jack, etc.) which should cost you less overall considering your minimal usage. The caveat is, these are all VoIP (Voice over IP) products (just like Uverse Voice), so if you lose Internet access, you lose telephone.

Hello
According to "Plans" it shows "Internet and Phone" $44.95 a month. My U-Verse Voice shows $44 just for Voice.

Does you total bill come out to $88.95? If so, it's possible that your billing is messed up.
You can send a private message to the escalation team at ATT Customer Care and someone will get in touch with you in two to three business days to help you get a resolution to your problems.
