AT&T SynJ phone system has dial tone but won't allow us to dial out

New phone system was installed last Friday and worked fine all day.  It's now Monday and we have a dial tone, but are unable to dial out.  The dial tone just keeps humming after entering a number.

Do you have more than one line connected and if so are all lines doing it?  If you only have one line and using u-verse reset your modem to see if the corrects the problem.  If you're using traditional landline service (POTS) make sure the base unit didn't accidently get changed to dial pulse.
