ATT Phone Model CL4940: Screen is lit, but remains blank
Cable modem: ARRIS CM820A/NA
Router: Linksys Ethernet/DSL Router with 4 port switch model BEFSR41
Phone Adapter for VOIP: Cisco 2 port phone adapter SPA112
Phone: CL4940 ATT
About a week ago I cleaned my ATT CLF940 phone with a slightly wet rag. It stopped working for a bit, I turned it upside down for an hour, then all was well again. A day later the screen went blank, and stayed blank.
I can make and receive call with no problems.
The phone makes sounds when I push the buttons, but nothing ever appears on the screen, even when I call the phone.
I tried unplugging the phone for 1 minute, then plugging it back in.
Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks
Steve

Try putting in in some drying agent (desiccant) overnight, rice will also work but not as well.
Edit: Remove the battery

I didn't see anything in the manual about the phone even having a battery.
How do I put dessicant inside of the phone?
The phone has had a week to dry out.
Thanks much for the ideas, not sure how to apply them.

You don't put the desiccant in the phone you put the phone in a container of desiccant. You usually do this fairly soon after the phone has gotten wet, after a week the damage may be done, but you can still try. Even though it's been a week there's more than likely still moisture in the phone. Since you have a full size phone it will take a lot of desiccant, so you may want to consider just getting a new phone. Just for future reference us alcohol to clean it instead of water as alcohol evaporates quickly. The battery was just an, in case thing.

I thought I would give it one good try before giving up and getting a new
phone.
Thanks for the response.
