The new unit is the IFWA-40 internet and wireless home phone, I'm told you can get it with just voice. Don't know if this link to order online is still good or not. Since you're replacing your current unit you might want to call AT&T wireless to see if you can get a replacement for the unit you currently have that will be obsolete pretty soon. Make sure you tell them you want to keep your existing number.

You have come to the right place, @akstan! Let's meet in a Direct Message (DM) to discuss upgrading your current Wireless Home Phone to stay ahead of the 3G network phase out.
Please check your Direct Message Inbox. Look for the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums page.
Also, @spoom2 provided some great information about the AT&T IFWA-40 Wireless Home Phone device and what's available for service! As you may be aware, the AT&T Wireless Internet device uses the AT&T cellular network to provide phone service to your cordless or corded home phone(s) and Internet access to your computer and Wi-Fi enabled devices.
Unlike a traditional home phone service, it does not require the use of a home phone wall jack and provides a low-cost solution that is less expensive than traditional phone service. It's only $20 per month for voice-only AT&T Wireless Internet (AWI) on standalone or Mobile Share plans.
Don't forget to check your DM for a message that is being sent to you. We want to help you with that replacement device!

@ATTHelp thank for the help on this as there's conflicting information as to whether or not you can get it for voice only if you're a new customer. I know the replacements can be used for voice only.

@akstan Were you able to order a replacement device? What was the outcome?
I am struggling with the same issue over here with no resolution forthcoming.
