Remove land line box and cable from house

you will need to hire someone to come out and remove the box at&t wont do that, as far as the line you need to call at&t and ask that the drop be remove, most likely a 149.00 charge.

Hello- we have an in ground AT&T box in front yard that the box cover is rusted and breaking down but no one at AT&T seems to be able to help out with this or direct me to correct person or department to have this cover inspected and replaced before someone steps on it and falls thru- already people have cut their foot on the sharp cover surface.  Can someone please help out?  Thank you.  

DYYTMT did you ever have any success with that problem, I know this is an old post, but I have the same issue, the old land line box is a safety hazard yet every call to ATT is futile and I may as well be speaking gibberish. No one can even understand the problem and keep trying to tell me I do not have a land line account with att.....hmm imagine that.
