phone interference
I have an AT&T phone set with five wireless handsets. Frequently, when answering a call we get a rhythmic sound tone interference that prevents hearing and understanding the caller. We ask the caller to hang up and call back, which usually solves the problem. However, it happens too often!

No response yet. FYI : I replaced an older AT&T set with a newer AT&T set just over a year ago, but the problem resurfaced again and I had to go through a reprogramming process on each hand set that took a couple of hours and worked for almost a year. Now it is back. My next step is to try buying another brand.

If they hang up and call back and it's fine, it's not the phone it's somewhere in the circuit. If this is from the same person, it will be on their end. If from several callers from different areas, it's on your end.

We're here to get to the root cause of the tone you are hearing, @ELDON_ADAMS!
We understand how important it is to be able to hear clearly on your phone.
Just as our ACE @spoom2 mentioned, if it's only one person it's highly likely it's on their end. If this is happening with multiple people, then it's possible it's on our end. Please let us know if it's isolated to one person or multiple.
If it is multiple people, use our Troubleshooting and Resolve tool to see if that is able to resolve your concern.
Let us know if this helps!
