Is Leaving The Cordless Phone on The Charger Okay?

Thanks in advance. I was wondering if it is okay to leave a fully charged cordless phone in the charger? I've read the manual and it doesn't cover this. I have the following model number: AT&T EL51203. It has Nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries.
