How to turn ringer on
My CL4940 phone ringer is turned off. How do I turn the ringer on and off. There is nothing in the manual that tells you this. I already know how to change the volume on the phone.

Page 11 of the manual for CL4940 you can adjust the level or turn it off or on, if you remove all the bars it's off.

Same problem. I set Menu > Ringer volume to max, and Idle > Volume up/down to max. Phone no longer shows incoming calls, and does not save messages to answer machine even though the caller has left a message. I cannot answer the calls when picking up the receiver, but I can make calls though.

Sounds like a bad base, if so all you can do is replace it.
