AT&T 2-Line 882 beeps every day
The phone goes through a series of beeps every day. First it beeps once 9 times, then it beeps twice 9 times, then 3 beeps 9 times and then continuous beeping. How do I stop it other than trashing the phone.

The user's guide for that phone (which I found at https://www.bellsystemmemorial.com/pdf/bsp/848234712_att_882.pdf ) doesn't mention any diagnostic tone sequences, my best guess when you mentioned what it was doing.
You might try removing the batteries, unplugging it from the AC power adaptor and the telephone line for a significant period of time (a least a few minutes?) and see if that causes it to change behavior after you power it back up. Keep in mind that removing the batteries may erase the phone's memory.
