AT& T Failure to repair a landline

I have an AT&T landline, and registered a complaint about no dial tone on 1/4/21 on their website. They listed a resolution date of 1/20/21. They missed their appointment, failed to put a date on a new appointment, and never contacted us. They are virtually impossible to contact via their website, which is designed to foil any interactions. I want my phone, for which I am paying, fixed. Does anyone know how to make this company responsive to their paying customers?

This company is a COMPLETE disaster, and I'm also writing to my congressperson about their abuse of their monopoly.

You don't tell us what type service you have.  Traditional landline? Digital (AT&T Phone) Wireless Home Phone?  If this is a traditional landline you should call the number for repair that's on your bill.  You can also escalate to a customer care executive by filling out the form or you can file an FCC complaint.  Either of which will most likely get their attention.

Be sure to ask for credit for the period of time you were without service.  You should not pay for service you didn't get.

It's a traditional landline. And, since I have no phone service, calling a number is thus a large problem (there is no cell service in my area).

Most major companies function can deploy electronic means for customer contact (like the web), but AT&T cannot, apparently.

And, JefferMC, Thanks for the suggestion about credit.

Southwestern Bell has never fully integrated the entire Bell empire it has reassembled under the AT&T name: this is not your grandparent's AT&T.  For a "communication" company, it doesn't seem to be able to do it very well.  I can't complain about my Internet connection: it works.  My only complaint about my POTS line was that it cost too much, so I switched to (another company's) VOIP.

I don't recommend the chat feature, but it's there.  Eventually, the ATTHelp team should stumble across your post and should offer to help.  Don't know how long that might take.

So use the escalation process provided.

@spoom2 , to add insult to injury, there's something wrong with the reCAPTCHA control on that page.

So... @quelise  report to your choice of the FCC or BBB.

@JefferMC yes I see what you're talking about.  Just another problem AT&T has with trying to make things easier.

As with JefferMC, I was foiled by the reCAPTCHA control. Unbelievably frustrating!!!!

File the FCC complaint, gets the job done.
