Trying to restablish service since November 2nd but number has not been ported from Magic Jack.

In December 2015, we left ATT after nearly 20 years of service to try the cheaper alternative Magic Jack. We had our long time phone number ported over to Magic Jack. Unfortunately, our internet line is too intermittant for reliable service, so we called on November 2, 2016 to reestablish service with ATT for a landline. We would like to bring our phone number with us back from Magic Jack.

We've made multiple calls to ATT and twice now have been told that Magic Jack was contacted to port the number. However, Magic Jack keeps telling us they have never received a request from ATT. It's been three weeks now since we started the transfer process and it seems we are no closer to having this resolved.

We've gotten an order confirmation from ATT in the mail and I assume a bill is soon to follow. Since our number is still with Magic Jack, I can not even open up our online account.

Any ideas or suggestions about how we can get this problem resolved? How do I get ATT to send a request to Magic Jack to port the number? We've tried talking with customer service weekly but nothing has happened- there seems to be some disconnect somewhere.

Hi @Hazel17,

 

If the request has been sent and not received, there could be an issue with how Majic Jack has your information saved. For example, if the name or address do not match, the port will not pick up. Verify what Majic Jack has listed for you and confirm it is the same on the ATT order,

Problem resolved by Beryl - ATT representative. Something off with the initial order. Thanks.
