Receive statements for an AT&T Long Distance account that is not ours

1. Received a check for $1069.24. Called AT&T, they couldn't find the account. Check addressed to husband at our address. All of our phone accounts are under my name because I am retired AT&T and we get concession.

2. Received a statement dated Dec. 26, 2023 showing a payment of $592.32 on Nov 30, 2023.  We did not make this payment. Again addressed to my husband at our address. Called AT&T again, still can't find this account. Figured out the number of the account, tried calling it, it has been discontinued.

3. Received another statement January 26, 2024 showing the amount refunded by check and stating we now owe $476.92.

4. Received a letter stating that a final bill for AT&T Long Distance was sent, please pay up. Called again and was forwarded to Fraud department.

This is not our account. I'm going to write all this in a letter and send to the address listed on the statement. I am going to pay back the refunded amount because, again, it's not ours. It would be nice to actually talk to someone that knows something.

This is a mostly customer based forum. If you think you're addressing AT&T you're not. If you get no satisfaction by sending your letter file an FCC complaint those go to the office of the president and a senior staff member will contact you to address your issue.
