Phone rings; answer machine answers, caller hangs up;

Calls repeats daily; call cycle starts at random time daily; then ~ 15 -30 minutes later, with same result; happens 4 - 5 times a day.

Caller / system must terminate when it detects an answering machine. Call never leaves a message; just terminates the call.

Likely robo calls. Those robot dialers do detect when they hit voicemail or an answering machine and do normally hang up.

Hi @mrchuck1,

Thank you for reaching out to us today. You can use the Call Protect app to block calls from spammers and telemarketers. You can also add your number to the National Do Not Call Registry. Please let us know if this works for you!

@ATTHelp Are you not paying attention to what forum this is? This is the home phone forum, the call protect app is not an option.

@ATTHelp Have put land line phone number on the "Do Not ....", several times and it works for awhile for Marketing calls; but has no effect on Robo calls. Our phone is an after market in house wireless type (old) and call protection app's aren't an option.
