cancel landline

Need to cancel landline effective Feb. 15.  Will I get a final bill for 3 days since my cycle is 2/13-3/15?

There is no pro rating of the bill, one day is paying for thirty days, might as well cancel March 10.

I'm sorry.   I find it hard to accept this answer.  I would like to hear from several others on this  topic ... preferably someone who has recently gone through the situation, or someone from the AT&T billing department.

You canceled 2/15 your billing cycle was the 13 to the 15 of the following month, so as of 2/13 your owed for billing cycle and as stated the bills are not pro-rated. No one from AT&T billing is going to respond to this topic. If you want a response from bill you'll have to call them. This is a customer-based forum. AttHelp does stop by from time to time you could wait for a response from them.

Whether you accept the answer or not, the final bill is not prorated unless you live in a state that requires it. It is in the terms of service which you can read for yourself, if you still don’t accept the answer.

AT&T CONSUMER SERVICE AGREEMENT

1.5 Termination or Suspension of AT&T Services

unless required by applicable law, there is no proration of charges and you are still responsible for the full month’s payment even if your AT&T Services are terminated before the end of a billing cycle

The above policy applies to everyone except residents of California, New York & Illinois.

To all who were kind enough to respond to my inquiry of Sunday, Feb. 26 re: prorated bill:  Skeeterintexas, My Thoughts, Spoom2 and Sandblaster, several of you advised me to phone AT&T, which I did today.  I was told to disregard my current billing for Feb, 12 through March 10, 2023, and wait for my final bill which will be prorated to Feb. 15, the day I canceled my service.  Perhaps those of you who suggested that "the final bill is not prorated unless you live in a state that requires it" were correct, and my state of Wisconsin is one of them.  It just makes good customer service sense to only charge a customer for the days of service he/she received ... especially when we are talking about 3 days of service out of 30.  Guess we'll (or at least I'll) find out in a few weeks.  Thank you all for your time and input.  IvaProblem.

Upon further research, it looks like Maine has become a "pro-rated" state along with California, Illinois & New York.  I can find no confirmation that Wisconsin is in that group.

Keep us posted.  I predict that you were told what you wanted to hear & not actual policy.  🤷‍♀️

My final bill from ATT for my cancelled landline for 3 days of use was slightly over $5.00!  Thank you AT&T.
