ATT bill (landline and internet)

Why is my bill keep going up every month!  I kept the landline for emergency only, so I shouldn't have any kind of surcharge; the internet has enough that I should not went over any usage either but the payment creep up every single month.  This time even went up almost 6 dollars!  Can you look into this and change back my payment?

Admittedly, it's a little tacky to crawl other vendors boards.  But, as long as it's on topic and not too blatant, AT&T can be the "bigger man" and allow it.

Yes, my POTS line is now averaging $77/month. I live in Chicago. 10 years ago it average about $40/month. Once in a while on the first page of the bill there's a notation in the section "Additions and Changes to Service" (if this section is not there, there's no additions/changes) that shows something like "Effective Mon, 1, YYYY your bill reflects an increase of $0.18 in you monthly service charges" Bit by bit, the bill goes up. I'm thinking there can only be 2 reasons this is happening:

  1. Their maintenance costs are going up'
  2. They want us to drop POTS by making it so expensive.

I vote for reason 2, I can't see how maintenance would double in 10 years.
