Assistance with Cancelling Parent's Acct.

Hello,

To make a long story short, I need to help my mom cancel her AT&T account because it, the phone, only worked for 2 days. The apartment where she lives has always had connection problems but we tested the line with a AT&T and it didn't work and they suggested that we cancel and return the equipment. We canceled and returned the equipment but they keep sending bills to my mom for a phone that she doesn't have! And she paid one time because she thought it might be a final bill but now they've sent another bill. The other problem is that she only has a temporary phone with limited minutes so its difficult for her to call and cancel over the phone, if she runs out of minutes.

I have taken a photo copy of her bill and wonder what other info I'd need to cancel her bill for her if possible?

And also request a refund of payment. She's 76 and memory not is good and we wanted to apply for the California Lifeline so that she could have a old school landline phone but I was told that doesn't really exist anymore. Hopefully next year we will get my mom on our cell phone plan until then I really need to cancel her service. She lives only on Social Security benefits so money is very tight.

solved!

I was able to finally cancel over the phone with an agent but lots of shady stuff they were charging my mom for like a landline phone and internet when she didn't request internet. And said that they installed a phone on a line that wasn't working at all and trying to charge her for it.

So upsetting that its so difficult to get a phone these days.
