SBCGLOBAL.NET
I am a long time holder of e-mail account with sbcglobal.net. Currently I cannot find access to anyone help desk that can assist me. My problem is that I am receiving e-mail with no difficulty on my I phone but cannot receive mail on my MacBookPro. I can send mail with no difficulty.
Does anyone know how I can get help?

I'm moving this thread to the Email forum.
What email client are you using on the laptop?
Are you using a Secure Mail Key?
Have you tried these server settings in place of the "official" AT&T servers?
imap.mail.yahoo.com
smtp.mail.yahoo.com

No problem. I wish I had a Mac to test with because it's not clear just from searching online which (if any) versions of Mail on MacOS support OAuth2.
So use the link I provided in my first comment and create a Secure Mail Key and use that in the places where Mail asks for a password.

Also when I go to Mail <preferences< select my account and go to account settings I am not offered the usual fields that shoe inbound server and outbound server.

I can't answer your question until you answer mine. 😁
Which email client do you use on the laptop?
