Password recovery option

Hi,

I just received an email from AT&T about password recovery option, but when I went to the link I wasn't able to figure out how to add a sub account.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there, ocamn. We understand that you would like to add a subaccount email for your recovery options. We can help you with that.

To add a subaccount, first, let's create the subaccount. Please follow these steps:

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile on a computer or tablet. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Scroll to Email account and choose Manage email.
  3. Select Manage subaccount.
  4. Choose Add a sub-account..
  5. Read the Terms & Conditions and select Accept.
  6. Complete the required fields and select Save.

Good to know: If you don’t see Manage subaccount users, make sure you’re signed in with the primary Member ID email.

Once the subaccount is created, then you will need to add the email address to your recovery options. Please follow these simple steps for success:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Enter in your full email address and password.
  3. Click Sign In.
  4. Once Signed In. Go to MyATT.
  5. Click on Profile.
  6. Click on Sign In Info.
  7. Click on the Email Tab.
  8. Click on the First Selection.
  9. Enter in the subaccount email address and save.

Once you have completed the steps we have mentioned, we do need to tell you that the recovery options cannot be used for a period of 30 days from the date you set it up. Once the 30 days have passed then you can use the password reset flow, for any reset needs.

If you have any questions, we can answer them. Just please let us know.

Thank you for posting on the AT&T Community Forums and have a happy holiday season.

Thanks for the quick reply!

If I choose to not update the recovery password option, what would happen then?

Nothing would happen, ocamn.

However, we recommend that you keep your password recovery information up-to-date to avoid complications in the event that you get locked out or need a password reset.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
