Outlook doesnt connect to att.net for email - setup issues

Trying to setup Outlook 2019 to connect to an email account on att.net.

Able to connect to the email account via the web but Outlook stepup not working.

Tried to set up via IMAP but it doesn't connect.  As last resort, I also tried via POP and doesn't connect.

(Changed the inbound and outbound settings for IMAP/POP per guides.)

Basically followed any guide about setting up Outlook with Att.net.

We suggest troubleshooting with our Login and Email Solutions guide. Visit the section titled 3rd Party Mailbox - (Outlook, Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird). If possible, please see if you're able to set up a non-AT&T email account in Outlook, so we can determine if there's a problem with your email account.


AT&T does not officially support or troubleshoot mailboxes/clients like Outlook, so we suggest reaching out to Outlook's support team to make sure there's nothing happening on their end that could be causing this.
