Need ATT Primary Member ID email address
Had ATT fiber internet installed 3 days ago. But, obviously, when I did my order online, I had to use an email address from my soon to be former internet provider, Spectrum. I was never assigned an ATT Primary Member ID email address and obviously, I need one, because I will be cancelling my Spectrum service ASAP.
I went into my ATT account to verify all my information and to get my ATT Primary Member ID email address - you have my Spectrum email as my verified email address. Duh! So I looked up your instructions on how to create one and it says to go to "Profile" and select "Account users". Problem? There is no "Account users" tab or box or whatever, anywhere. Not under Profiles, not under any of the other tabs up top, like "Accounts", Bills, etc.
So, obviously, I cannot continue on to "Get AT&T email", then Continue and then choose "I need to create an AT&T email address" since there is no "Account users" box or tab to start that entire process.
So, tell me, exactly how do I get an ATT Primary Member ID email address, so I can then also create the subaccounts that having an account with AT&T entitles me to, when the tabs I need to click on don't exist on my account page?
Appreciate your help, ASAP!

I spoke with Benny at the 800.288.2020 number and he got me all set up in like five minutes. My advice to anyone having the same problem as me is to just call the 800 number.

Oh Sara, you didn't really read my post, did you? Because if you had, you would have realized that I actually included the very instructions in my post, that you sent me.
Once again, the problem is that THERE IS NO ACCOUNT USERS TAB, WINDOW OR WHATEVER, ANYWHERE ON MY PROFILE PAGE, FOR ME TO CLICK ON, so that I can then continue onto 'GET AT&T EMAIL", etc., and then onto 'I NEED TO CREATE AN AT&T EMAIL ADDRESS.
I found this info the very first day I went searching, have it printed out and sitting on my desk. It does me no good if there is NO ACCOUNT USERS TAB on my Profile page.
Here is a screenshot of my Profile Page - if you can tell me where "ACCOUNT USERS" is or how to get to it from the Profile page, please do!

Thank you, Sara, for your rapid reply. I am sorry I could not get back to you as quickly.
Before I attempt to get a "free" att.net email address, I'd like to know if I can then convert that free email account into my ATT Primary Member ID email account, after entering it into my Profile as my new email ID, and then following the steps you outlined by signing into currently.com and choosing "Create AT&T Account".
I need to be able to make email sub-accounts because I use different email addresses for e.g., Family & Friends, social media accts, financial accts, etc. And free att.net accounts do not offer you the ability to have sub-accounts, only Primary Member ID Email accounts do.
I did sign into currently.com using the link you provided. I clicked on the "sign-in envelope" on the top right side and it took me to a Welcome page where my Spectrum rr.com email address and my ATT password were already filled in. I did not fill this in myself, the page already just "knew" my account existed.
But when I pressed the blue sign-in button, first it attempted to log me in, but then immediately signed me out and then sent me back to the initial Welcome screen. No matter how many times I pressed the sign-in button, it went through the same steps. In short, I was not able to log in. I'm thinking it's because Currently recognizes that a rr.com email address is not valid on its site, since only att.net and currently.com addresses are. So my Spectrum rr.com ID isn't going to work on Currently either.
So please let me know if I can just "Sign up for a free email address", then edit my Profile using that free address, then follow your steps to make it a full Att Member Account address.
If not, then how else can I finally get the Primary Member ID email account that all customers get/need.
Thank you!

Thank you so much for reaching out to us over Community Forums! Give us a chance to help get this taken care of.
We appreciate the steps you have done so far @Boodles6.
We recommend that you use a different browser, sometimes if you use the same browser, it might redirect you to the old email account. If you are using the same browser then please clear your cache and cookies, and, remove the saved email address and password in your browser.
You can edit, enable or disable a subaccount. A subaccount is a Member ID email address set up under the account owner's primary Member ID. Only the account owner can create and manage subaccounts.
Check here how to Create and Manage Subaccounts - AT&T U-verse TV Customer Support (att.com)
In the meantime, you may find some helpful information on our 205.2 Care Code article. This article will help secure your email account.
Please let us know if this helps.

Hello AshR
So let's just get into it. Today the link Sara sent does not work. I keep getting an error message"
"An error occurred while processing your request.
Reference #30.554f7268.1694719360.56f07dd "
Regardless, every time I did try it YESTERDAY as I said in my last post, when I hit Sign-In, the log-in form that came up was already auto-filled with my Spectrum rr.com email address and the password for my ATT account. I did NOT fill it in myself previously. I had never been on Currently.com until yesterday. Obviously, it had already been shared to Currently.com by ATT.
But no matter, either way, since it would just log me out and send me back to the sign up screen, no matter how many times I attempted to log in. I was NEVER able to log in with the rr.com address.
So today, using a different browser, I went onto Currently.com and created a new free Att.net email account. However, nowhere did it specifically ask me to "Create (a) AT&T Account" as Sara said it would. I did have to make a password, give my phone # and did get a 4 digit code to enter in to verify. That was it, the account was confirmed. It did not ask me for account info, security questions, etc., as Sara said it would
So WHAT I NEED TO KNOW NOW IS HOW DO I PROCEED FROM HERE. Do I now go into my ATT account and change my Spectrum rr.com email to my new free att.net email?
If so, do I then go back to Currently.com and attempt to link my free att.net email to my Fiber Internet service, so it becomes a Master Email ID account?
And if so, exactly how do I do that?
Time is awasting because I received notice today that my first bill is due on the 16th - today is the 14th. So if I don't have a Primary ATT Member ID email account by tomorrow, I will be cancelling the service.
Because, frankly, this is ridiculous. Day 4 of trying to get an email address that should have either been (1) automatically mailed/assigned to me or (2) at the very least I should have been sent an email with a link and instructions on how to set up the Primary ATT Member ID email account or (3) there should have been a box or notice, prominently placed on my ATT account page, directing me where and how to set it up.
And while it was nice that you sent the instructions on how to set up sub accounts, that was not my question. I know that free att.net email addresses do not have the ability to have sub-acccounts. Only Member ID email accounts can have them. So my question was, will I be able to convert the free att.net email address to a Primary Member ID account or not? Because if not, then the free att.net email account is useless to me, since it does not give me the benefits a paying customer is supposed to get.

We appreciate the steps you have done so far @Boodles6.
We'd be happy to help you get logged into your email account through Currently.
Just to confirm, are you able to log into your email account through an email client such as Apple Mail or Outlook? We just want to see if the login loop only happens when you try to login through Currently.
To access your http://sm.att.com/59b66bca email, you can :
AT&T and Yahoo are making your email more secure. This new security implementation, also known as Open Authentication (OAuth), works by encrypting your credentials to better protect them from hackers.
If your email program or app does not have OAuth technology, each of your AT&T email addresses and subaccounts will only be able to access your AT&T email program or app using a 16-character Secure Mail Key.
Follow these steps to create a Secure Mail Key from your mobile device, tablet, or computer.
Sometimes, you may face technical hiccups while trying to update the email address. Hence we would recommend you to contact our technical Support team 800.288.2020 to have the changes done through them.
Let us know if this helps.
Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forum.
