Email Setup for Sbcglobal.net on iphone
I used the AT&T online direstions step by step and it didn't work by using the yahoo mail setup. Once I entered the email address and the password it kept sending me back to the Yahoo sign in page of the MyAT&T page over and over and over again and failed to setup the email on the apple mail app. I have also googled instructions to do it by clicking other and setting up the servers, IMAP, POP3 etc and none of that works. Is AT&T just a crap email service and I should change wifi, tv, phone and other services?

Hello, @calbart1,
Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help set up email on your iPhone. Have you set up OAuth or a secure mail key for your email app? What type of iPhone do you have? Please let us know.

My iPad will not access anything regarding sbcglobal.net email accounts. I see message "rate limited" and it shows it is trying to access api.login.yahoo.com. I get this message when trying to "Re-Enter" password on an email account that previously was working. I deleted two sbcglobal.net email accounts and get rate limited when attempting to add them back, attempting to follow the recommendations previously given on this community. Please help

Hey @derunge, we'd be happy to help you access your email using an iPad.
Please attempt to reset the email password using myAT&T.
You may also need to set up a Open Authentication since you are using and iPad device.
Let us know if this helps or if you need any further assistance.

Not sure how this would be related. I can still access my sbcglobal.net emails on my iPhone. I can also get my sbcglobal.net email on my laptop computer using Outlook. This is an issue with my iPad and with at the moment. I am getting this message before I now get this "rate limited." This happens now before I ever get to the point of accessing a specific sbcglobal.net email account. All my gmail emails work fine. I installed yahoo mail in response to one recommendation. I open the yahoo mail. It asks me to "sign in with Yahoo" It moves to Yahoo mail wants to use yahoo.com. When I click "Continue," I get "rate limited" and it appears to be trying to access api.login.yahoo.com. Note issues accessing my sbcglobal email accounts also are happening on my wife's iPad, and on the standard mail app on Windows 10 on my iPAD

I think I have found the problem. I attempted recommendations on the Apple Forum, and also was seeking answers on AT&T's forum. Both assumed it was something with the other. It appears to be neither. I tripped into a message from my VPN. I am not sure I have fully resolved it, but I added the domain to the VPN, and it let me finish setting up one of my accounts in Yahoo Mail app on the iPad. I will need to add the remainder of the email accounts and look further into my VPN to see why. Thanks

Hi helper.
I'm trying to setup my sbcglobal.net account on my Mail App on my iphoneX, IOS 14.8. Set up new account after deleting prior sbcglobal account (it used to work, but hasn't for quite some time... just trying again because it's a pain to use the browser).
Set the new account up under Mail > Add Accounts > Other. I just changed my password today and successfully logged in via browser. Also set up a new secure mail key today.
Verification of the new account failed with message "No password provided for Sbcglobal. Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password." This was on the IMAP tab. I checked the IMAP settings and they had INCOMING with host "imap.mail.att.net" so I changed it to "imap.att.net" as previously mentioned in this thread. I also changed the OUTGOING with host 'smtp.mail.att.net' to 'smtp.att.net'. I re-entered my new PW under both INCOMING and OUTGOING.
Then I clicked on the POP tab to check those settings. I made the same changes to INCOMING and OUTGOING sections and reentered password in each section. Clicked Save.
It again failed to verify with message, "Cannot connect Using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?" I clicked YES.It again failed to verify with message, "The POP server "imap.att.net" is not responding. Check your network connection and that your entered the correct information in the "Incoming Mail Server" field. I clicked OK. Had to cancel out of the set up.
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to be using the Secure Mail Key somewhere like in the password?? Please help.

I recognized the mistake I made on the IMAP versus POP setup in my above post... so here is what I ended up doing:
IMAP
Incoming: imap.mail.att.net
Outgoing: stmp.mail.att.net
POP
Incoming: inbound.att.net
Outgoing: outbound.att.net
In the password field(s) I used my secure mail key instead of my password.
After ‘Verifying’, it failed to verify with message, "Cannot connect Using SSL. Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?" I clicked YES.
After ‘Verifying’, this worked; I can use the Mail App again on my phone!
