Delete old SBCGlobal.net email account

How do I delete an SBCGlobal.net email account.

Following the instructions that are on AT&T support... there is no "cancel" option in my profile or in managing email tab.

Hi, @ScottTexas, we would be happy to help with deleting your email.

Deleting your email is a process you can complete with the following steps:

  1. Go to Profile.
  2. Select Contact info.
  3. Select the Email tab.
  4. Under Free AT&T email account, select Manage. If you don’t see that option, your email account can’t be deleted.
  5. Next to Member ID, select Delete Account. Select OK.
  6. Confirm that the Status at the bottom of the User Information section now reads Disabled. Your email account has been deleted.

There is some additional important information you should know prior to deleting:

  • You can delete your AT&T email address if it's been 30-60 days since a paid AT&T service has been canceled or disconnected.
  • You can delete a free AT&T email account that’s never been associated with a paid AT&T service.
  • You can’t delete your AT&T email address if it’s associated with an active AT&T service.
  • Deleting a Member ID will delete any subaccounts created with that account.

Please try the above and let us know how it helps.

We are here to provide additional assistance on deleting your email account, @ScottTexas.

Was your email address previously associated with a paid AT&T service? If so, has it been 61 days or more since cancelling or disconnecting your service? Let us know so we can figure out further why you are not able to see the option to cancel the service if the above-mentioned timeframe has elapsed.

Looking forward to hearing back you.

It’s an old sbcglobal.net email account.  Has always been a free account.

Thank you fore that information, @ScottTexas.

So that we can get to the bottom of this, let's go ahead and move this conversation into a direct message. This way we can access your email to verify some things. Be on the lookout for a chat notification in the upper right-hand portion of the page, next to the bell icon. Once you're there, we can continue this over the phone or in chat if you'd prefer.

We look forward to speaking with you!
