Cannot add bellsouth.net e-mail account to MS Office 365/Outlook
Got new HP lap top computer - running Windows 11 Home.
Cannot set up ATT (bellsouth.net) e-mail account. No problem with g-mail account.
Followed ATT instructions for manual set up tried POP/IMAP settings with 16 digit secure mail key. Gets as far as the inbound server login screen and does not finish.

Did you just create a Secure Mail Key or have you had one previous to this. I ask because we're seeing more and more SMK's that don't work and need to be deleted and a new one created.
If you still get errors, use these alternate servers instead of the att.com servers.
IMAP
imap.mail.yahoo.com (use Port 993 and SSL/TLS)
smtp.mail.yahoo.com (use Port 465 and SSL/TLS)
POP3
pop.mail.yahoo.com (use Port 995 and SSL/TLS)
smtp.mail.yahoo.com (use Port 465 and SSL/TLS)

Thank you tonydi. Creating a new SMK did the trick.
FYI - the old SMK was only 1 month old which supports your observation.
Happy New Year

Glad that did the trick because I was out of ideas! 😁
Just curious, but have you ever gotten a notification about your SMK?

Only notification I got was that I needed one when they first made the change.
Nothing since about renewing or expiring.
Also, nothing came up during set up about needing a "current" SMK ?

No, you shouldn't get those notifications but there's a thread here where people's SMK are getting changed by someone else and they get notified by AT&T each time it happens. Just wanted to be sure you weren't part of that breach.
