Yahoo Mail Keeps Logging Me Out!!!

After reading my emails for about 10 minutes, I can't open any more emails. When I refresh the page, I keep getting logged out and have to log in again to continue reading my emails.

@Farfala Thank you for your response. I too have been having problems with being logged out for several weeks now and wasn't sure why it started happening all of a sudden. I came to this forum to see if others were having the same problems because I am becoming increasingly frustrated to have to log into my account several times a day.

@rgaines Yes, and don't be surprised if this problem suddenly seems to be resolved only to have it happen again a week or so later, which is what we were experiencing. Also noticed that I was having issues trying to sign in to this forum. After several failed attempts I used a different browser and was able to sign in. At&T Help may ask you to chat with them but honestly, I have been back and forth with them not only recently but last year as well with the same issue, and they really are no help at all. You waste time going back and forth and still get nowhere. So, the issue is within their system and AT&T/Yahoo are the only ones who can fix these login problems. At present, our email issues seem back to normal - for now - but it won't surprise me if tomorrow the problems return!

We're here to shed light on your login concerns, @rgaines!

Are you being prompted to reset your password as well? We ask this because we do have an ongoing trend where users are being prompted to reset their password frequently.

If not, let us know, so we can try a few more things!

Sometimes I am asked to reset my password and other times I am logged out and/or get a message that the message can't load. When I hit reload, I am sent to the login screen. It's very frustrating to have to log into my email multiple times a day.

AT&T is one of the worst companies in the world. This email issue is entirely the fault of AT&T and its horrible technology. I've spent a long time with what AT&T calls "tech support" and they have no idea what they're talking about. But, at least they admitted this Yahoo mail mess is due to the mail server being screwed up. There's no need to try to fix this on your PC; it's not your fault. This is a mail server disaster that AT&T seems totally unconcerned about. It's why I have a prontonmail account as well as "sbcglobal.net" addresses. AT&T doesn't care a bit about customer service or quality. And, it's virtually impossible to get anyone on the phone who knows anything about really working in advanced technology.

Yeah, I hear you TechKnow. It's unacceptable for such an experienced and HUGE corporation to drag their feet solving this issue! Thank God for Gmail!!!

This also describes my issues, except for the fact that I'm on bellsouth.net.  I'm getting logged out repeatedly during the day, on my work and home computers.  Still seems to be working okay on my phone.  Glad that they have acknowledged it as a known problem, hope they actually fix it.

Hey there @joannelj. We appreciate you reaching out and wanted to see if we can help to reduce the frequency of this occurring while we find a more permanent solution.

Please give the following a try:

  • Please continue to make sure that you are logging on directly through Currently. This is the site that we are best able to support for log in concerns.
  • Clear your cache and cookies. This will always ensure that your browser settings and saved data are not exacerbating what we are experiencing.
  • Make sure that whatever browser you are using is operating on the most recent updates. We recommend also using Firefox and Chrome as your browsers of choice.
  • Keep only one instance of your email running at one time. Especially on the same browser. This is typically the lead contributor of timeout notifications in normal circumstances.
  • Once you have confirmed the steps above, reset your password, then avoid logging in for 24 hours, especially if you are logging in via multiple devices. Please note that if you have received Care Code 205.2, your account will be monitored to protect your security. Consistent log-in attempts may result in another lock being placed on your account, as to protect your account from fraud.
  • If you are recieving a timeout notification, you may try to go to your webmail settings and select the option to 'Keep me signed in'. We have seen other users anecdotally mention that this has been helpful in reducing the frequency of these incidents.
  • You can also take a look at our forums post regarding general email troubleshooting if you need assistance with anything you have not yet mentioned.

Thank you for visiting the AT&T Community Forums. We really appreciate your patience and understanding. Please rest assured that this is one of our top priorities at this time.
