Are you using an Email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Yahoo mobile app, etc) or the webmail version accessed through www.currently.com?
If the latter there's no explanation other than this is yet another "feature" of the Yahoo/AT&T email service. Email disappears from the Inbox, whole folders full of email disappear, deleted emails keep coming back to the Inbox, certain age emails disappear, etc etc etc etc etc.
Given the time frame you mention there's no chance that their "restore" feature will work (it's not all that reliable to begin with) either.
Thanks for your reply. I am using the native Apple mail app. And I have already figured out that “free email” means “absolutely no support”. 7 days worth of restoration is a laughable proposition.
I suspect I’ll be throwing in the towel with my att.net address at some point in the future… just have to bite the bullet and figure out how many people/entities I’ll need to update.
The restore isn't actually 7 days worth of email, despite what ATTHelp keeps posting. Think of it like restoring a backup. You have to trigger the process within 7 days of the loss date and they restore whatever was in the last backup. I think it fails so often because people don't log in frequently enough and it's been more than a week since the mail actually disappeared when they discover it.
Now, using a client does add a number of possibilities. I'm not an Apple guy so I don't know any specifics relating to this sort of thing happening in Apple Mail but I'm sure Google can find them. So I presume that if you log into the webmail, the same situation exists in the Sent folder there?
Hey @mstiebitz. We understand your frustration and would be happy to help you with your sent emails being deleted.
We appreciate @tonydi for providing that information.
We'd first suggest clearing your cache and cookies from the device you're using. There could be saved data that changed the settings to where sent emails are being deleted after a certain amount of time. You can also fill out a request form to restore missing email to your account. However we can only restore emails that are from the past 7 days.
