webmail makes me reset password to log back in, repeatedly

I routinely use webmail for email access. That means dealing with 1) the awful Yahoo interface and 2) having to log in every two weeks if I'm not forced out sooner. So it kicked me out again, and when I tried to log back in, it made me reset my password to do so, again. It routinely says that I have had "too many unsuccessful login attempts" even when I was in successfully moments before. No amount of research on my part has yielded a reason why, and every time it does it, I have to reauthenticate the email app on my tablet with the "new" password. If AT&T can't get Yahoo to fix THEIR issues, at least they could try to fix this one, but there is no way to submit an email support request, and chat bots are supremely unhelpful. Has anyone else ever figured out how to make it stop?

Thanks for reaching out @satscout. We understand your frustration with constantly having to reset your password.

We suggest you start off by clearing the cache and cookies from the device you are using. This can help with the login issues you keep encountering.

Is there an error code that you see when it says that you've had too many unsuccessful login attempts? This could possibly be a part of the ongoing trend that our technicians are working on to get resolved as quickly as possible

Please let us know if the above steps helped.

When it does it again - as it inevitably will - I'll try to note the error code. Clearing cache and cookies is useless as I've tried that MANY times before with zero impact in either rectifying the problem or preventing its recurrence.

And yes, I do believe it's an ongoing trend. Tons of us reporting the same problem can't be all outliers, after all :-)

I'm getting prompts to "accept an answer" but it's not solved quite yet. I'm only posting this here to keep the system from closing me out involuntarily until I get the error again so I can post the code. It may be a few days before it does it again.

Hello again, satscout.

As Robert mentioned before, the frequent password reset request is part of the ongoing issue that some AT&T email users are experiencing. Some are receiving different care codes (205, 201, 202, etc.), and others are just being prompted to reset their password each time they sign in.

We don't have an estimated time of resolution, but we're doing our best to get this resolved. If you need help with anything else in the meantime, don't hesitate to let us know.

Thank you for visiting the AT&T Community Forums.

Just happened again literally moments ago. The browser window started blinking, showing the "unable to delete message" flag even though I wasn't doing anything, and my inbox appeared to empty itself. Then even when I clicked on the trash it showed the trash as "empty" yet having over 180 messages in it (my inbox had about 86 or 89 or so). When the blinking stopped, it flashed to the login page. When I tried to re-log in it gave the expected error, only this time I was able to write down which it was: It was "Care code 205.2 [LU003]", which means it's one of the "under investigation" codes. Once I reset the password - yet again - it let me in to show an unaffected inbox. I'm trying to sync my tablet as we speak since every time I have to do this password reset it errors the email app on my tablet.

Do we have an estimated time frame of resolution yet? Just wondering. Thanks.
