Unable to log in to email.

I am trying to get to my email using my laptop.  I carefully entered my login name and password.  This is the message I get:

Check your entry and try again. Keep in mind, you’ll have to reset your password after too many unsuccessful sign-in attempts.
CARE CODE: 201 [LU100].  Figuring that I tried too many times I pressed "Forgot Password" to get it reset.  I was asked 2 security questions and my answers were not accepted.  How do I get this resolved??

We can explain why you're unable to access your email on your computer, bmcmullin87.


Essentially, this is due to bad actors who are trying to access AT&T email accounts. We're aware that this is happening to other email users, and we're working on a resolution. You can get more information about why this is happening and what we're doing to fix it in our article that covers the 205 error code.


In the meantime, please access your email on other devices, if possible. You can also try the following troubleshooting options as a workaround to sign in on your computer. 

  1. Clear your browser's cache and cookies to remove any stored password information. Be sure to close and relaunch your browser afterward.
  2. Reset your password using the Forgot password option. Select the option to receive a tempoary password, instead of answering the security questions. Wait 24 hours, then try to sign in.
