Unable to connect more than 3 devices to mail account

I have 8 systems in various locations that I use to access my mail account. Once I exceed 3 systems then I get an error message saying I have exceeded login attempts and I need to recover my password. Why is this happening? I can't find anything that suggests there is a limit.

Hi @tmostad,

We understand that you want to connect to multiple devices using your email account. We hear you, and happy to assist you.

Have you set up a secure mail key? Depending on how you are trying to access your email, it's possible that the program or app may not be compatible with open authentication. If that is the case then you will need the secure mail key. You can find more about email troubleshooting by using the aforementioned forums article. Not only will it help you with get into your email, but it will troubleshoot common email concerns, such as setting up a Secure Mail Key for email apps and client programs.

We recommend resetting your email password to re-sync your account. You can reset your password using security questions or a temporary password. To reset using a temporary password:

  1. Select Forgot password.
  2. Fill out the password info.
  3. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts.
  4. Choose a temporary password and we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

Remember to wait a full 24 hours after the reset to ensure your account fully resyncs.

If the issue persists, we recommend going through our article on- Email, Mail Client, Website & Features Troubleshooting

Let's get some more information to better assist with your email:

  • Do you get the error when trying to access your email via the Currently site?
  • Do you usually access your email via Apple Mail?

Let us know if this helps or feel free to reach out to us for further assistance.
