Suspicious email -- from an att.net account. Any chance this is legitmate?

Got an email from address "[email scrubbed]".  Has the "Currently - From AT&T" and "Yahoo" logos at the top.  Tells me I have been ignoring messages to upgrade my email address, and that my address ([email scrubbed]) will stop receiving emails in 48 hours if I do so.  Naturally, there is a link, "Upgrade_here".  I am fairly sure this is a phishing attempt, and forwarded it to abuse@att.net for confirmation, or assistance if there is actually something to it.  Got the automated response from [email scrubbed], which does not answer the question, and tells me I will receive nothing further.  Anyone else able to shed more light?

Hi there, @tfagedes. We understand that you are having a concern about an email that you have received about AT&T closing its email service. We can answer that.

AT&T is not closing its email service.

Our friendly neighborhood ACE, @Constructive is correct. This is a known phishing email. You have done the right thing by forwarding that email to our abuse team at abuse@att.net.

You can find more information by reading our awesome article entitled: Protect yourself from phishing and fake websites. That article will provide other avenues and resources that you can use as for reporting phishing or false emails.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Received the same e-mail.  AT&T Customer Service says ignore it but person on the phone did not give me any confidence he knew what I was talking about.  Asked the same question hope we get an answer.
