sbcglobal.net

Hello,

I still use an sbcglobal.net email address which was assigned to me when AT&T "took over" Yahoo a number of years.  My questions are:

  • Is sbcglobal.net being discontinued?
  • Do I need to move back to Yahoo? If so, can my emails be transferred over>
  • For how long can I continue using sbcglobal.net ?  Can I use it for free if I change internet services?

I look forward to your responses.

So many of us cannot access our SBCGLOBAL.NET email. In my case I am directed to the login on the Currently page. When I enter my information, it tells me that it sent an 8 digit code to my email and to enter it below... the problem is, it sent it to the SBCGLOBAL.NET email that I am trying to get into! I have spent hours on the phone with AT&T and they have not been able to understand the situation and they all want me to reset my AT&T password. (They have never heard of an 8 digit confirmation code. They only use 6) I have no problem accessing my AT&T account and can reset the password all day, but it is only the Email that I cannot access. It was at one time a handled by Yahoo for ATT, I believe. Not sure what is happening now. Some customers can access it, and some cannot. Can someone please help us get into our email which we have been using for over 20 years?

I'm having a similar problem as Chris.  I have the main sbcglobal account and my wife has a linked sub account that had been working for decades up until several weeks ago.  We both have secure key codes that we were asked to do and have utilized.  All of a sudden my wife's e-mail address is not working and can't access e-mails using Outlook or via Yahoo re: currently.com.  We made no changes on our end.  Customer service is no help at all despite hours on the phone.

If she cannot access her e-mail via currently.com, then you need to find out what's wrong there before trying to set the client back up.  It may be that she has an account that AT&T thinks has been compromised.  Try having her do a password reset, or, since she's a Sub Account, reset her password for her.

Are others getting spam emails to a derivative of your sbcglobal.net email i.e att.net and yahoo.com, email accounts I do not have but which spammers seem to overcome with increasing frequency?
