sbcglobal.net
Hello,
I still use an sbcglobal.net email address which was assigned to me when AT&T "took over" Yahoo a number of years. My questions are:
- Is sbcglobal.net being discontinued?
- Do I need to move back to Yahoo? If so, can my emails be transferred over>
- For how long can I continue using sbcglobal.net ? Can I use it for free if I change internet services?
I look forward to your responses.

AT&T never "took over" Yahoo. Verizon owns Yahoo, purchased it in 2017 and renamed the subsidiary OATH. But AT&T has paid Yahoo to provide AT&T email services for the about last 14 yrs so maybe that's what you're thinking about.
The "legacy" Bell company email accounts are not being discontinued. If you discontinue your AT&T service as long as you leave in "good standing" (no unpaid balance on account, any requested equipment returned) you can continue to use your sbcglobal.net account.

Thanks for your response. My sbcglobal email is still provided on the Yahoo platform so, hopefully nothing will change anytime soon. I get messages to upgrade to the new Yahoo but I will hold out as long as I can because there are too many websites to update. 🙁

Those messages are just attempts to get you to click the link and either install malware on your system or collect personal information or both. They are not really from AT&T or Yahoo! at all.

You go to https://currently.com to read your mail from any AT&T domain, including sbcglobal.net (I'd suggest getting the b and c in that order). When you click the mail icon, you will be sent to an AT&T login page. Log in with your sbcglobal.net e-mail address and password. Then you'll be sent back to the mail page at currently.com.

We'd be happy to help you sign in to your Sbcglobal email, sali100.
The information our Ace provided is exactly what you'll need to follow to access your email. Give that a go, and let us know if you still need assistance.

Ace & Att. Thank you for that initial step. However, it seems like I need to reset my password because Im putting in the wrong one it seems. When I do "forgot password" and input my email and last name, it says it cannot pull anything up.

Let's do a manual check on your email address, sali100!
Morning forward, we will move this interaction to Direct Message. You will see a chat icon next to a bell icon at the top of the page, on the right side. Our next message will appear there.
In the mean time, please gather your account information, but do not post it here. We will ask for it again.
Just look out for that Direct Message and follow the instruction provided.
Thank you for using the AT&T Community Forums.

My son and I each have sbcglobal.net accounts and one of us gets locked out about every two weeks saying too many password attempts (not true...it just happens).
Please fix us
