Reviving old sbcglobal.net email

I am unable to log into my old sbcglobal.net email through either currently.com or yahoo.com.

When I try to reset my password in yahoo, it sends the verification code to the email I am trying to access.

What else can I do to get into my old sbcglobal? Thank you.

Thank you for responding, Nina!

Unfortunately the only user ID I have now is only associated with a different email for our AT&T account, and when I use the past email or iterations as a user ID it doesn't recognize the last name as correct.

Hello @seekingSBC,
We understand the gravity of your concern! Let's work on a fix and get the help you need!

If you forgot your password, you could also sign in by answering your security questions or resetting the password using your wireless number. There are two ways to set up a wireless number. One for customers who have an AT&T Wireless number and one for those who do not.

To tie your wireless number for password resets

If you don’t have an AT&T Wireless number

  1. Go to Profile, then Contact info.
  2. On the Phone tab, select Edit in the Billing phone numbers section.
  3. Enter your wireless number as the primary or secondary number.
  4. Check the box next to Use this number to recover your user ID or reset your password.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Complete any confirmation steps sent to your wireless number within 24 hours.

Please note it may take 30-days before you can use a non-AT&T wireless number as a recovery option.

AT&T Wireless Customers

  1. Go to my AT&T Profile. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Scroll to Sign-in info.
  3. Select Edit or Remove for your Recovery phone.
  4. Edit your details:
     - If assigning or changing a number, enter the verification code sent to the number.
    - If removing a number, follow the prompts.
  5. Save your changes!

You can find out more information about trouble with email, you can use the aforementioned forums support article.

Also , feel free to Reset your Email Password here!

We hope this information is helpful and thanks for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

Unfortunately the sbcglobal email is not an email address associated with our at&t account, nor has it ever been as far as I know.

So I cannot access anything to change it through the at&t account.

Hello @seekingSBC,

Thank you for reaching us on the AT&T Community Forums! We can definitely assist you with locating your  User ID. You can follow the steps at this link to Find your ID now.

Instances where the user forgets their ID are fairly common; we have a system in place to help you retrieve it. It only requires the original email address which was used to create the account. Here are the steps you must follow; the whole process is a breeze!

If you forgot your ID and password

  1. Select Forgot ID? > User ID & Password.
  2. Enter your contact email address.
  3. If prompted, choose how you would like to receive your user ID.
  4. Enter your user ID that was sent to you.
  5. Choose temporary password or security questions and follow the prompts.
  6. If you chose temporary password, enter the password you received. The temporary password page will tell you where the password was sent.
  7. Create your new password.

This will ensure you quickly recover both items you need to access your online account.

We request  you to use the aforementioned forums support article to Learn how to set up or change your user ID

However, if this doesn’t work for some reason, we have a specialized team that can assist you in retrieving your information. They can be reached at 877-285-0144.

I hope this helps.

Happy to assist!

Unfortunately there is no user ID associated with this email either.

Like I said, it is ooooold and was not used to in association with our current at&t cell plan. It just happens that at&t now owns the sbcglobal.net domain from back when we used sbcglobal for internet.

This is the result of resetting the user ID:

"We can’t find that email address. Check your entry and try again."

That phone number only recites that I should call 1800-288-2020. This took me to a automated line that couldn't understand my weird request. I got a link to message a human online. They gave me the link to reset the password for an email associated with my current AT&T account.
