recurring sbcglobal.net email login issues

I am unable to login through the signin.att.com/ yahoo email portal. The user name and password I use for the sbcglobal.net email account is not recognized - I suspect that because I have multiple att.com user accounts this might be a problem. Sometimes this resolves on its own, but it is very frustrating each time it happens.  It only happens on my desktop systems.

We recommend resetting your email password to re sync your account. To reset you password:

  1. Go to myAT&T.
  2. Select Forgot password.
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts.
  5. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  6. Create your new password.

Try this and let us know what happens.

do I create a new user name and password for att? does this somehow allow me to link my sbcglobal.net email address with this new att profile?

so, I had to create a new att.net email profile, add my sbcglobal.net email account to it, change passwords, etc.  What an uninspiring ordeal.  I guess that they are just trying to wean people off of the legacy accounts.

I have been having a problem with having to reset my sbcglobal.net email account. It says I have had to many attempts to login after the first try sometimes the second. This is not the case. It is very frustrating. I am a retired AT&T employee and it makes it hard to recommend the service. Is there a fix or should I just change service. I have reset my password many times in the last two weeks

my husband's email is having the same issue.  The error message we get 

Hmm… we can’t reset your password

We noticed unusual activity with your sign-in info. To keep your information safe, call 877.285.0144 to reset your password.

Care Code 203.3
the number provided doesn't answer and then when you call the att number you are on hold for hours with no resolution.

Same issue here.  Considering moving all my emails to gmail instead.  Maybe that is ATT’s goal to get us off their system and save bandwidth, etc.

Too bad had this address for almost 20 years now.

Same thing happening here.  I have 3 email addresses and 2 of them seem to have vanished and not being recognized on the yahoo app or iphone/ipad mail system.  Can't get into them on the pc's either.  I know what my passwords are but they won't work and I can't change them either.  What is going on?  These are important emails and I have had them for years!
