Recent massive failure in Sp*m filtering

About three weeks ago, I started getting flooded with Sp*m. I have spoken with other ATT based e-mail users who have experienced the same. It looks like Current/Yahoo stopped filtering Sp*m. There does not seem to be a way to contact either of those companies to get the issue resolved. Can someone at ATT help us out. It is nearly a third of my e-mail at this point. Setting filters does not help because senders never use the same domain twice.

Congratulations AT&T!  Your continued incompetence and ability to fail spectacularly on the login and spam issues are doing nothing but driving customers away.

Hint for AT&T/Yahoo:  Gmail is not having these issues.  Outlook is not having these issues.  Protonmail is not having these issues.  FastMail is not having these issues.  ZohoMail is not having these issues.  None of these other options is perfect but all are so much better than anything AT&T can currently offer.

Here's another hint for you AT&T:  For years your email service WASN'T BROKEN!  It DID NOT NEED TO BE FIXED!  What changed?

As far as I'm concerned, the way AT&T treats email customers is exactly what should be expected when dealing with any of their companies for any of their products.  Tell me why I should even consider doing business with you!

@ChelseaChelseaChelsea   So anything you experience, despite it being eminently  provable that the opposite is true, is still FACT?  Do you believe the Earth is flat?

But there's one thing we both agree on 100%.....the people that run the Yahoo/AT&T email service are totally incompetent and have been for a long time.  I seriously doubt it's going to get better any time soon because A) AT&T seems to care not a whit about the service or how any of us customers are affected and B) the button pushers and lever pullers that run the actual mail servers seem completely clueless and out of touch.

@DC9876   The weird thing about this whole spam flood is that it's not affecting all Yahoo/AT&T email users, in fact, it seems like a fairly small percentage of the user base.

I don't have a good way to poll users but it would be interesting to know if everyone having the spam issue is also having the login issue.  That's also affecting a small sub-set of the total Yahoo/AT&T user base.

@tonydi - nobody appreciates the know-it-all who doesn’t know when to let it drop. I conceded your point about the launch of Yahoo Plus (freely admitting I hadn’t bothered to investigate the details because I found the offer insulting on its face). I stated my own personal experience as “fact” and yet you arrogantly want to question even that. You’re picking nits at this point. Why? It’s no wonder you have over 1.5k comments when so much of what you post seems to serve your apparent need to be “the smartest one in the room” instead of the good of the community. Flex your ego all you want, but how about leaving me out of it from here on? Do I think the world is flat? Please. [Queue the inevitable comeback from the guy who can’t let it rest.]

@tonydi @ChelseaChelseaChelsea You two about done, getting notifications of your posts is like getting spam. I have been working hard at getting my spam stopped and today I have not had any in yahoo spam folder or on my PC.

It appears that yahoo filters are again working.

Yes, huge amounts of spam stopped for me too.yesterday 8/27/22 on one of my 2 SBCGlobal accounts.  The other isn't used much and rarely gets spam.  My wife's Yahoo.com account has been receiving over 30 a day and still is, 32 yesterday.  I also have a Yahoo account and it is spam free, but I hardly send or receive emails on it.

Hi Some, Thought I would check in since some now I have been blocked from receiving updates.    A little better these days, some of the obvious spam going to spam and others still not.  My self made filters are not working, so this means that mail that Yahoo is identifying as spam and I tell them it is not, does not work.

Anyway, strange how some of your ATT emails accounts (me too) get copious amounts of spam and others none.

I had 28 alerts on my bell icon here, not a one email to me that I had updates.

Good luck to all!
