Recent massive failure in Sp*m filtering

About three weeks ago, I started getting flooded with Sp*m. I have spoken with other ATT based e-mail users who have experienced the same. It looks like Current/Yahoo stopped filtering Sp*m. There does not seem to be a way to contact either of those companies to get the issue resolved. Can someone at ATT help us out. It is nearly a third of my e-mail at this point. Setting filters does not help because senders never use the same domain twice.

Its all about money folks, ATT wont pay Yahoo anymore to handle spam issues and Yahoo wont do it for free because they know they can sell us the promise of Yahoo plus!  Yahoo has turned off their spam filters and servers, its obvious!

Forwarding to abuse@att is a waste of time, they will tell you it did not originate from an ATT account and not their job!

I have gotten 96 from the same source the last 2 days.  Weekdays its about 5-15 per hour, with the same email arriving every 2-3 minutes.

I have won so many iPhones and Stanley tool kits, I dont have to Christmas shop!  Dont let anyone tell you its not about money!

@LucaandFanny   Yikes!  If it's that important to you, why on Earth are you still willing to deal with the crap show that is Yahoo Mail right now?

@edcuccia  You keep making this totally baseless claim that this is all about the paid service.  I keep explaining to you that there's no such feature in Yahoo Mail +.  Show me where it says anywhere that spam filtering is part of that package.

What I've noticed is that AT&T/Yahoo mail DOES move spam into ITS spam folder, but that same spam is still downloadable as if it had not been moved.  Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail all treat the spam in AT&T's spam folder as if it were still in the inbox.  That's the problem.

tonydi ... because I don't know where to turn for an alternate ISP ... and because after 17 years, changing my email address would be a nightmare. But I'm about to make a move because this situation is dangerous.

I'm not sure why everyone thinks they need to change ISP's because the Yahoo/AT&T email is having so many problems.  If you were a Gmail user and it had a massive breakdown in services like Yahoo has, would you switch ISP's?

Yes, no doubt that changing is a giant pain in the rear.  But at some point the pain of dealing with the ever growing list of major problems just has to outweigh that pain.

Look at the extremely unfortunate people who were putting up with this crap hoping and praying that Yahoo/AT&T would get their act together and fix all these issues and now are forever locked out of their accounts.  I'm betting most of them now wish they had taken the short term pain of moving on.

Folks, dont let anyone, non-att official, convince you to go to gmail.  ATT has done away with their "YET Team."  The Yahoo Escalation Team use to be very helpful with issues like this.  But they do not exist anymore.

@jumblejim, I have seen that also on my iPhone:  some mail that does get marked as spam, will end up in the inbox.

16 already, bulk from ACE hardware this morning.

BTW, is there a way to block people here?

@tonydi I agree with you. It would be a (Edited per community guidelines) to switch everything from my sbcglobal.net addy over to anyone else. I've had that since we first used AT&T as our ISP, which is a long time ago. Maybe, someday, Yahoo will fix it.

I could cut it over to Apple, Googly, or even LookOut. SPAM is annoying.

I'll deal with the SPAM and see how it goes. Oy.
