One ATT account & Multiple e-mail addresses issue

I have had one ATT account for as long as ATT has provided email, over 20 years (back when it was Prodigy). I have had multiple email addresses associated with my account for that long as well; 3 with an "@Prodigy.net" address & one with an "@me.com" address. I have been using Microsoft Office for Mac for many years as well. Now I find that ATT has lumped all 4 of my addresses under one "accounT" alll using the same password! I don't want the same password for all of my email addresses, and it causes havoc with Outlook. Every time I try to log on to one account, it messes up access to my other 3 accounts. WHY are all my email accounts  connected with the same password?

James,

Thank you for your quick response. Unfortunately, I cannot get to the "My ATT profile" page! I clicked on the link in your reply, and it takes me to the Direct TV page!. The Direct TV account is in my husband's name and email address, not mine. This is one of the most frustrating things I have with ATT since it absorbed Direct TV. It seems that any link for mail or internet service from ATT takes me to the Direct TV page, where there isn't anything to help with mail!  I keep just going in circles. I can visualize the page where my email accounts are listed, I just can't get there! Is there another way to get to the "My Linked Accounts" page?  I have been a loyal customer of ATT for at least 50 years, but my loyalty has about expired!

Hey there @doglady3,

We understand and would like to help you with your email concern.

To avoid the hassle, we suggest creating a secure mail key, where you can log in to your email without entering the password.

When you create a key, each device you use to access your email will have its own secure mail key.

It’s easy to create a secure mail key from your mobile device, tablet, or computer. Have your User ID and password ready to sign in to myAT&T.

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Scroll to My linked accounts, select the email account that needs a secure mail key.
  3. Scroll to Secure mail key, select Manage secure mail key.
  4. Choose the email address that you’d like to use, if you have more than one.
  5. Select Add secure mail key. Enter a nickname for the secure mail key to make it easy to recognize.
  6. Choose Create secure mail key.
  7. Select Copy secure mail key to clipboard. Make a note of your secure mail key  for further updates.
    • For security purposes, the secure mail key only displays until you select OK
    • If you lose or forget the secure mail key, you can always create new secure mail keys.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Go to your preferred email app, replace the existing password with your secure mail key. For an IMAP account, delete the existing password for both the IMAP and SMTP servers. Replace them with your secure mail key.

Good to know: Each device you use to access your email will have its own secure mail key.

To make it easier, you can create a nickname to identify your secure mail key, especially if you have more than one. It’s much easier to recognize a nickname, like "Ari’s email" or "Kelly’s email", than the 16 random characters you entered when setting up your email.

Hope this helps!

You can also try changing AT&T user ID. To change your AT&T User ID, you need to:

EXACTLY WHERE do I find "My Linked Accounts"? MY ATT PROFILE sends me to DIRECT TV, which has nothing to do with my email accounts!
