Old Att.net account hacked and need help

I have a very old att.net email address, I can still access it on old phone, but don't remember password cause saved in memory. I tried resetting it, but a hacker used a different email address as the back up... I need to regain control of my account... Like I said I still have access to this email, but want to get my account back under my control... I had this email since the days of worldnet.

Please if I can speak to a representative to help me with this matter.

Let's see what we can do to get you signed in to your email account, NYLI27.

Try to reset your password using the Forgot password option and choose to answer the security questions, instead of getting a temporary password.

Go to att.com/myatt.
Select Forgot password?
Fill out the password info.
Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
Create your new password.
