Not connecting to an agent
I keep trying to use the chat function on the AT&T site (I'm having issues logging into my email account. Firstly, when it asks me to choose my area of concern, I can choose internet, but not email. I chose internet anyway and then typed in my question/issue. It said it was connecting me to an agent, but after 45 min. I decided to try back. I get the feeling that this is an issue, b/c there is a button that comes up in the chat that you can push that says "I'll try back" like they know the wait is going to be ridiculous, so they give you the option up-front. How can I get my issue addressed?

What browser are you using? Do you have any privacy or adblocker plugins? They can break the chat function.
That said, you may want to call, but it important to know what you are calling about.
You may want to ask your issue here.

You have come to the right place to get help with your internet concerns, @rashelbell.
At this time, there are no reported issues with the chat functions on the AT&T site.
You can use the following steps to help contact an agent, or you can explain your problems here in Community Forums:

@rashelbell ... same problem here ... How in the world am I expected to keep track of all of these User IDs and passwords I've accumulated for various websites and how many ideas do the people who set these systems up think I can come up with for passwords that I'll remember? I'm just not that creative and my memory is getting worse and worse the older I get. I try to keep track of them all in a spreadsheet (it's currently got about 100 website User ID/password combinations in it), but as I said, I ran out of ideas quite a while ago for new passwords that I'll have a chance of remembering the next time I want to sign on to website X.

@sanfranman59 all modern web browsers can generate new passwords and save them for you. Chrome can do it. Safari can do it. You can even sync the passwords to other systems.

Thanks for moving the thread to the email forum. Just to clarify, I’ve had this reset my password multiple times now, so I know I’m using the correct password (I wrote it down where I could find it after the 2nd time the error message came up🤬

Now that you're in the right forum, look at the list of posts here. Over 90% of them are complaints about the exact same problem you're having, so you're not alone. 😁
HERE is a link to the post where AT&T explains the issue. Note that post was in July, but this problem really began last October and there's no fix in sight. Consider yourself lucky in that you can do the Forgot Password reset (you don't actually need to change it, using the same one each time is, incredibly enough, still an option). Many people can't do that and can't authenticate to AT&T that they are the legit owners of the accounts so they're permanently locked out. 🤬
